Offer terms

Octopus Fissa 12M is the 100% renewable energy electricity tariff with a fixed energy price for 12 months.

  • This document follows a format set by ARERA, the authority that regulates Italy’s energy market, and is the same for all suppliers. ARERA has chosen a transparency-based approach: showing every price detail, with each item listed separately so that anyone who wishes can examine them. This, however, makes the document longer and more complex to read. At Octopus Energy, we believe in making things simpler: turning that complexity into something clear and straightforward that anyone can understand without having to examine every detail. That is why we design our offers to be simple and affordable, with just a few essential items, no extras or hidden costs, and prices designed to be fair over time, not just in the first year. Current regulations allow us to act directly only on the part called “energy component”; the rest is set by the Authorities. We believe, however, that people want a fair, easy-to-understand final energy price that includes everything. As we work towards this model, ARERA has already acted on one of our requests: making the separation between the cost of energy and the other mandatory items clearer. We continue to push for a simpler system, as explained in our Manifesto: https://octopusenergy.it/manifesto

  • This is a regulated component: its values are set by ARERA under the applicable regulations and are the same for all energy companies. The amounts are paid to electricity network operators—the companies that manage the infrastructure (cables, substations and meters), transport and distribute electricity to homes, and ensure it is measured correctly. Charges therefore apply for electricity transmission, distribution and metering services, including: - the UC3 component, which covers network cost equalisation mechanisms; - the UC6 component, which is linked to improving service quality. All these values are set and periodically updated by ARERA.

  • This is a regulated component: its values are set by ARERA under the applicable regulations and are the same for all energy companies. General system charges are costs set by the State to fund activities of public interest related to the energy system. These amounts are not retained by Octopus Energy Italia; they are collected through the bill and paid into the public system as required by law. The main component is Asos. The Asos component funds the incentive scheme for electricity generated from renewable sources and cogeneration. It is payable by all electricity customers. However, this mechanism is not very intuitive today: renewable energy is now among the least expensive technologies available, and continuing to fund it through additional bill components risks sending customers incorrect price signals. We believe the benefits of renewable energy should be more direct and visible, without appearing as complex items that are difficult to understand. That is why, in our Manifesto, we also advocate eliminating these complexities and making bills simpler, without additional levy items: https://octopusenergy.it/manifesto

  • The Contract is deemed concluded when the Customer receives Octopus's written acceptance of the Supply Request submitted by the Customer. Supply will be activated according to the timeframes established by the applicable legislation in force and is in all cases subject to the successful completion of the Local Distributor's activities. To provide the supply, the contract requires the supplier to enter into transmission, distribution and withdrawal dispatching contracts pursuant to the TIDE.

  • The Customer may withdraw, unilaterally and free of charge, to change the Supplier even for a single supply. If the Customer wishes to withdraw to change supplier, the notice of withdrawal must be received by Octopus through the new supplier, according to the procedure established by current legislation. If there is a delay in the activation of the supply by the new Supplier, Octopus Energy Italia will continue to apply the same current economic and contractual conditions. If the Customer wishes to terminate the supply, they must forward the notice of withdrawal directly to Octopus Energy Italia SRL via email (ciao@octoenergy.it) or post (Via dei Gorghi 9, 63100 Ascoli Piceno AP) with a notice period of 1 (one) month starting from the date of receipt of the notice of withdrawal.

  • Electricity produced 100% from renewable sources. For this offer, Octopus Energy Italia procures quantities of energy certified as coming from renewable sources, as attested by the Gestore Servizi Energetici (GSE) certification under the legislation in force, in an amount equal to the equivalent consumption billed to the Customer. In particular, the Guarantees of Origin provided for by EC Directive 2009/28/EC certify that the energy procured by Octopus Energy Italia for this Contract comes from renewable sources (each certificate corresponds to 1 MWh of electricity generated by a specific renewable energy plant during a specific period).

  • The economic conditions provide for a fixed price for 12 months from the Supply activation date. Upon expiration, Octopus will communicate to the Customer the economic conditions applicable for the subsequent period, within the terms and according to the methods provided by current legislation, through a communication called “Renewal proposal with modification of economic conditions”, containing the new conditions and the relative starting date. Alternatively, the Customer may choose another offer available at the time of renewal. In the absence of a different choice, the new communicated conditions will apply, without prejudice to the possibility of changing supplier at any time without costs or penalties.

  • The Customer may submit complaints through the following channels: -Online: by completing the relevant form at www.octopusenergy.it -By post: write to Octopus Energy Italia Srl, Via dei Gorghi 9 - 63100 Ascoli Piceno (AP). For complaints concerning electricity distribution and metering services or gas distribution services, Octopus Energy Italia Srl will request from the Distributor the technical data needed to send a response to the Customer. For these services, the Customer may send the complaint directly to the Distributor, which must respond to the Customer within 30 calendar days. Suppliers must meet specific quality standards in their dealings with Customers, including how and when they respond to complaints, as established by Annex A to ARERA Resolution No. 413/2016/R/com (TIQV); otherwise, they may be required to pay compensation. If the complaint is not resolved, the out-of-court dispute resolution procedures set out in the relevant article of the General Supply Conditions may be initiated; information is also available at octopusenergy.it. If you are a vulnerable customer, as defined by the legislation in force, you may choose, instead of the offer in this Information Sheet, the economic and contractual supply conditions defined by the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment. For further general information about your rights, including sellers' universal public service obligations, and about the Commercial Code of Conduct, which sets specific rules for sellers, visit the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment website at www.arera.it/consumatori or call the toll-free number 800.166.654.

  • The billing of electricity and/or natural gas consumption will take place electronically in compliance with current regulations and in accordance with the provisions of the General Supply Conditions (CPF). Octopus Energy Italia, without prejudice to any other right recognized by the Contract, will apply default interest to the Customer who has paid an invoice late, without the need for a formal notice of default. Default interest will be calculated on the amounts of unpaid invoices at the ECB rate in force from time to time increased by 3,5 percentage points for domestic users and condominiums and by a sum equal to default interest calculated to the extent of the default interest rate ex Legislative Decree 231/2002 - in force on the due date of the relevant invoice. Octopus Energy Italia also reserves the right to apply the following charges for late payment management: €5.00 (excluding VAT and taxes) for each reminder communication sent by ordinary mail or electronic channels (example: email, SMS, PEC), €10.00 (excluding VAT and taxes) for each reminder communication sent by registered mail, €5.00 (excluding VAT and taxes) for each bank unpaid item received following the submission of an SDD (SEPA) request.

  • Offer reserved for final customers holding low-voltage utilities for domestic use.

  • For more details, consult the website of the Regulatory Authority for Energy, Networks and Environment (ARERA): https://www.arera.it/consumatori/valori-rete-oneri-domestici-ee

  • The offer is exclusively for household-use sites with a low-voltage electricity supply, consumption up to 10,000 kWh/year and power up to 10 kW.

  • The Consumer Customer may exercise the right of withdrawal, without charge and without giving a reason, within 14 (fourteen) days from the date the Contract is concluded. The right of withdrawal may be exercised using the Withdrawal Form attached to the Contract or by written notice sent by registered mail with return receipt to Octopus Energy Italia, Via dei Gorghi 9 - 63100 Ascoli Piceno (AP). In the Supply Request, the Consumer Customer may ask for the Contract to be performed before the withdrawal period expires, expressly waiving that period. This request may result in supply starting during the withdrawal period and will bring supply forward compared with the normal timeframes in Article 6 below. In that case, the Consumer Customer may still exercise the right of withdrawal, but must pay Octopus the following amounts: a. €23.00 (twenty-three), or, if lower, the fixed amount under Article 9.6 of the Commercial Code of Conduct, if supply has not started; b. the Contract price for electricity and/or natural gas actually supplied by Octopus to the Consumer Customer up to the time supply ends. If the right of withdrawal is exercised and Octopus has not yet begun performing the Contract, supply will be provided by the previous supplier if the previous supply contract has not been terminated, or by the providers of the enhanced protection service under the TIV (electricity) or the last-resort supply service under the TIVG (natural gas). Alternatively, Octopus may provide supply for the time needed to allow a new supplier switch or, according to the Consumer Customer’s stated wishes, suspension or closure of the Supply Point. If the Consumer Customer exercises the right of withdrawal to end supply by deactivating the Supply Point, they must request deactivation from Octopus, which will arrange it, where applicable through the transmission and dispatching user (electricity) or the distribution service user (natural gas).

  • Billing will be based on readings taken by the locally responsible distributor. The Customer may submit a meter self-reading in accordance with the procedures and deadlines described on the bill. If the Distributor does not make those readings available in time for billing, billing will be based on the Customer’s self-reading validated by the Distributor or, if none is available, on estimates determined by the Supplier or the Distributor; responsibility for taking readings remains with the Distributor. For more information, see the CGF.

  • The social bonus for electricity supply was introduced to reduce energy costs for households experiencing financial hardship. To receive it on your bill, you need only submit the Single Substitute Declaration (DSU) each year, for example through your Municipality, a tax assistance centre (CAF) or the INPS website, to obtain the ISEE certificate used for various subsidised social benefits. The bonus is also available in cases of physical hardship, that is, when a household includes a person with a serious health condition requiring the use of life-saving equipment powered by electricity. To receive it on your bill, you must apply through your Municipality of residence or an entity designated by it. For more information, visit www.arera.it or call the toll-free number 800.166.654.

To guarantee the proper performance of the obligations arising from the Contract, Octopus may require the Customer to pay a security deposit when the Supply is activated, as set out below. a) For electricity: (i) for household customers, the security deposit is €16.00 (sixteen/00) for each kW of committed capacity; (ii) for non-household customers, the security deposit is €20.00 (twenty/00) for each kW of committed capacity. b) For gas: (i) for annual consumption below 500 Smc, the amount charged will be €30.00 (thirty/00); (ii) for consumption up to 1,500 Smc, €90.00 (ninety/00); (iii) for consumption up to 2,500 Smc, €150.00 (one hundred fifty/00); (iv) for consumption up to 5,000 Smc, €300.00 (three hundred/00); and (v) for consumption above 5,000 Smc, one month of the customer’s average annual consumption, excluding taxes.
